Reducing valves DRV7- Spirax Sarco

The DRV7 is an SG iron direct acting bellows sealed pressure reducing valve. The standard version has an EPDM diaphragm and is suitable for steam, water and air applications.

The DRV7 is available with a Nitrile rubber diaphragm (suffix 'N') for oil applications. A Nitrile rubber soft seated version (suffix 'G', limited to 90°C) is also available for applications that require tight shut-off. It is recommended that for these applications a maximum pressure turndown ratio of 10:1 is observed.

Product detail

  • Product code
    Reducing valves DRV7- Spirax Sarco
  • APPLICATIONS
Steam Pressure Reducing Valve regulates the steam pressure downstream from the valve to a pre-adjusted set point value.

DRV7, Direct acting - Large capacity

The downstream steam pressure signal moves the diaphragm against an adjustable spring. The valve movement is proportional to sensed pressure, but the greater the flow, the larger the offset.

Features & Benefits
- Extremely robust
- Easy to adjust
- Easy to maintain
- Can also be used as a surplussing valve

Pressure / temperature limits

Steam Reducing Station

Many industrial plants produce high-pressure steam for process work.  In many of these plants, there is excess steam capacity available that can be utilized for other purposes, such as space heating, water heating, etc.  Process steam is often generated at a higher pressure than can be used for the other purposes.  Whatever the needs for lower pressure steam, a pressure reducing station will be required.

A pressure reducing station is more than just a reducing valve fed off a steam main.  A properly designed and installed pressure reducing station takes into consideration velocity, good piping practices, and safety.
